The Abu Dhabi Na Fianna GAA teams triumphed in Dubai this weekend

The Dubai GAA football tournament was the first round of games in the Middle East League and Na Fianna are off to a flying start.

Abu Dhabi Na Fianna Ladies A team defeated Sharjah before beating Dubai Celts in the final. As team captain Antia Mc Nerney accepted the cup on behalf of her teammates, she said: “I’m delighted, it’s a fantastic start to the season”.

Barbara McElvaney was named Player of the Tournament and was presented with the trophy by Paddy Darcy, chairman of the Dubai club.

Abu Dhabi Na Fianna Men’s B team were also victorious, they beat Oman, Bahrain and then Dubai Dingos in the final.

Na Fianna players are looking forward to the next GAA tournament which takes place in Bahrain in November.
