Al Ain sign Ghanaian star Asamoah Gyan for one season on loan basis

Al Ain Club officials have successfully completed negotiations with Ghanaian footballer Asamoah Gyan (25) and he has signed a one-season contract on a loan basis

Asamoah

The Ghanaian National Team striker who was playing for Sunderland in the English Premier League is due to arrive this evening and will go under medical test tomorrow. The player is currently suffering a minor ankle injury which will not allow him to join the team's trainings in the coming few days.

Born on 22nd November 1985 in Accra, Ghana, Asamoah Gyan led his country in the 2010 FIFA World Cup in South Africa, where he scored 3 goals. Unfortunately, he will probably be better remembered for missing a penalty in the last minute of extra time in Ghana's quarter-final with Uruguay.

He has a fixation with the Number '3', which he believes brings him good fortune. Gyan will be given no. 3 shirt with the Al Ain team for the 2011/12 season.
