Humaid Al Masaood raced to a second consecutive podium finish in the Canadian leg of the American Le Mans Series (ALMS) at the Mosport International Raceway in Ontario this week after an impressive performance by the Emirati and his teammate Steven Kane ensured they took third place.

Together with experienced British racer Kane, the team’s No. 20 Mazda Lola Coupé, which is run by ALMS Championship leader Dyson Racing in conjunction with Al Masaood’s Oryx Racing team, has enjoyed a stellar start to the series. Oryx Racing’s podium placing was made all the more impressive by the fact that the team was forced to make two unscheduled pit stops toward the end of the race which left it in sixth position, and third place was only achieved with just a few laps to go.

Al Masaood’s participation in the ALMS continues to see him fly the flag for Middle East motorsport. Racing against some of the world’s top sportscar drivers, he is the first Emirati to take part in top-flight international sportscar racing.

“I am extremely proud to be able to represent my country in the ALMS,” said Al Masaood. “The UAE continues to grow as a sporting nation and I hope I can inspire future driving champions by continuing to impress throughout this tough sports car racing series.”
