Goals galore

It was a mixed bag of results for the capital’s teams in the fifth round of the Etisalat Pro League last weekend as two of them recorded emphatic wins and two of them suffered disappointing defeats.

Al Wahda finally found their scoring boots as they hit five past freshly-promoted Dubai away from home. Fernando Baiano led the way for Wahda with a brace, while Hamdan al Kamali, Fahad al Junaibi and Hugo Henrique also got on the scoresheet.

Meanwhile, Al Jazira remain the only undefeated team in the league as they thumped local rivals Bani Yas 4-0 thanks to two wonder goals from Ibrahim Diaky and a goal apiece for Subait Khater and Ahmed Juma.

Al Ain were forced to field an under-strength team against Al Ahli but still managed to take an early lead through Omar Abdul Rahman. Unfortunately, Al Ahli proved just too strong as they scored twice in the second half to take home all the points.
