Set against the stunning streets and waters of Paris and Venice, Frank (Depp) is an American tourist mending a broken heart in Europe when a not so chance encounter with Elise (Jolie) sees sparks fly and an intense romance begin. Those familiar with the 2005 version aren’t in for any obvious surprises, but it’s a trusty and delightful remake none the less. The Tourist is a sharp, gripping drama thriller that, with a class act of superb on-screen chemistry, a sharp plot and picturesque cinematography, creates edge-of-your-seat viewing.
