notsostreetwiseIt’s another cult computer game-turned film, and another definitely targeted at die-hard fans and red-blooded males.
SFTLCL follows the franchise’s style of high kicks and fast-action as the second film takes us into the world of Chun Li, a young street fighter on a mission to find her father and her personal mission for justice.
A leading role for the former TV series star (Smallville) and lust-after actress Kristin Kreuk is a good idea, but a rather drawn-out plot and stereotypical Asian fighting get in the way of the acting credentials and dampen the story. The tale stays true to its original, though, and some sleek stunts and fight scenes will no doubt please fans. If a barely-there story and little else to admire is not your thing, however, you might as well buy the computer game and play out the action from the comfort of your sofa.
