Camel festival
The fourth session of the Mazayina Dhafra Camel Festival launches today and runs until 25th December, held under the patronage of HH Sheikh Mohammed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the Armed Forces. The festival has become a regional and global event helping to safeguard the heritage of Abu Dhabi. The last session of the festival in February saw 1,200 people in the region entering more than 28,000 camels. Along with a camel race, the festival will include many other traditional events such as a date packing competition, a Nabait poetry contest, a photography competition and a cooking contest. There will also be dedicated children’s activities and a traditional market displaying handicrafts from the around the UAE.
