The Safeer Departmental Store is big, stuffed full of economically priced goodies from clothes to suitcases, and doesn’t get the footfall it deserves. Partly that’s because it’s hidden away on the first floor of the apartment block opposite the Beach Rotana and Abu Dhabi Mall, insofar as something that big can be said to be hidden. Getting there across the roadworks is a bit of trek unless you happen to be visiting the Mongolian Chinese Restaurant (itself worth the detour if you’re feeling hungry and impoverished).
