Popping its way back to the capital is the Centro Al Manhal bubbly brunch, with a refreshing new menu and all your classic food and drinks to boot.
With its vast glass window at the end of the restaurant, C.Taste offers a brunch location that allows you to see the hustle and bustle of the city, while only hearing the chitter-chatter of a vibrant environment. Our table was conveniently placed near the buffet and along with our guests, we began our three-hour eating marathon.
Our tasting team spread out amongst the stations, to survey the impressive array of salads, meats and sweets; for some reason the normal routine of starters, mains and desserts goes out the window. However, we decided to stick to courses and started with the piping-hot pumpkin soup and warm crispy bread rolls. This was swiftly followed by a cool potato and chicken salad.
Waiting staff at the restaurant effortlessly removed plates and served drinks to our table, all without disturbing the laughter and ambience of the guests; our plates being cleared only encouraged us to explore the food stations once again. This time, the meat.
Traditional Arabic grilled meats adorned with roasted vegetables was our choice for the “main course” of the day. Fish fans dived into the seafood options while our ‘veggie’ colleague was overwhelmed with moutabal, fattoush, hummus, breads and fresh salads. It seems all aspects of our cuisine needs were covered.
And finally, for our sweet-toothed troupe, we visited the live pancake station. Poured, flipped, bronzed and served – the perfect pancake was ours, over and over again!
