Al Ain Zoo is set to pay tribute to Arabian wildlife and culture this month with a series of interactive themed events at the park.

The celebration is a significant one for the zoo, which aims to create awareness and educate the public on wildlife in an engaging manner.

Visitors to the park will be able to explore the history of the region through live performances, traditional cuisine and artwork relevant to each country.

From 15th December, the spotlight is on Morocco, Algeria and Tunisia followed by a week’s tribute to wildlife native to Syria, Lebanon, Palestine and Jordan, which will end on
31st December.

Founded in 1968, Al Ain Zoo prides itself on being home to the largest collection of Arabian wildlife in the world. Among its 197 animal species are Egyptian geese, Arabian mountain gazelles and Arabian oryx.

As part of its mission, the resort works in partnership with numerous conservation programmes including the Sahara Conservation Fund, which seeks to save the critically endangered addax, also known as the screwhorn antelope.

Al Ain Zoo is open daily from 9am to 8pm.
