Cartoon Network, a branch of Turner Broadcasting System is providing a huge boost to the local and regional animation industry with the announcement of its intentions to open an animation training academy at twofour54 in Abu Dhabi.

The ambitious plans will see the development of a number of projects focused on the development of Arabic animation as well as the creation of the Cartoon Network development and production studios.

The first phase to become operational will be the new Cartoon Network Animation Academy and development studios, which will launch in September 2010.
