Nurseries warned over care standards
(0 votes, average 0 out of 5)
The Ministry of Social Affairs has sent warnings to a fifth of all nurseries across the country so far this year for failing to meet standards. 45 of 230 nurseries received warnings, compared with only 15 last year. Four nurseries have been closed down.
The ministry made the announcement as it revealed details of a three-year plan to improve the quality of nurseries. As part of the initiative, the ministry has proposed a new set of rules for nursery operators. They range from the quality of care and education to building and health and safety standards. The nurseries must also provide training courses for staff to ensure they are providing
quality education.
