The capital’s shutterbugs should get snapping, because Al Ain Zoo has launched its annual photography contest earlier this week.
Running for the third consecutive year, the 2014 Photography Contest at Al Ain Zoo will see both amateurs and professional photographers submit candid shots of zoo moments for a chance to be featured in the zoo’s 2015 calendar.
Contestants can submit up to three photographs each until 28th February for a chance to be in the running. With a portion of the proceeds from the calendar going to benefit the zoo’s conservation projects, the top 12 winners will also receive gifts and an exclusive tour of the facilities. Winners will be announced in May with the new calendar available to purchase later this year.
“The response to last year’s photo contest was tremendous. We were amazed by the innovation in the entries, and we are confident participants will surprise us even more this year. The photo contest gives us a great opportunity to engage the UAE community in a fun way, that will see them contributing and raising awareness about Al Ain Zoo’s conservation efforts, which is ultimately part of a wider, global cause to protect wildlife,” said Muna Al Dhaheri, chief conservation and education officer.
Open to participants aged seven and above, entries must be in a landscape layout. Photographs must have a minimum 300 DPI and can be emailed to [email protected]
