Life-changing treatment needed for UAE resident

It’s said that sometimes you can wake up in the morning and the world tilts. And that saying couldn’t be more accurate for one young man in Abu Dhabi.

In March 2014, 27-year-old Shariq Alvi was days away from starting his dream job in a local bank here in the capital. But on the morning he was due to collect his contract, Alvi collapsed and was rushed to hospital suffering from a brain haemorrhage.

After six months in a coma, Alvi’s condition has shown minor signs of improvement. But with medical bills now topping AED 600,000, his brother-in-law, Abid Ali, is running out of ideas.
“I’ve had to take out a loan to help with the medical bills, but there is still more treatment needed which of course costs money.”

Abu Dhabi-based LLH Hospital LLC has now wiped the cost of all medical bills incurred so far at its Lifeline Hospitals, but Ali must find another hospital to continue the treatment for his brother-in-law.

“We are currently looking at other hospitals around the world to help Alvi – hospitals in Singapore, China and back home in India,” said Ali. “But we are desperate for financial help to cover at least the first two months of his new treatment.”

If you feel that you can help Alvi in any way, please contact Ali at: [email protected]
