Fiesta Feast

Tucked away in Masdar City is a hidden gem with food to die for, meaning you don’t mind the quest it takes to find it.

The venue, casual and unassuming, is welcoming with an open kitchen ready to dish up vibrant food.

The menu is simple with four options: tacos, burritos, quesadillas or a bowl with fillings and optional toppings.

Made to order, this is food that will leave your mouth watering, with the aroma sending signals to your stomach that you’re in for a treat.

I go for the seafood burrito with succulent red snapper, expertly marinated and cooked, complemented with rice, black beans, salsa and creamy guacamole – lifted with the zip
of jalapeños.

My guest, also going burrito route, fills his with the signature braised Barbacoa beef
with rice, black beans, tangy salsa and a helping of cheese.

From the first bite, it’s obvious the food is fresh, authentic and simple – offering vibrant layers of spicy flavours beautifully balanced with a zingy citrus edge.

The fish is an instant hit, moreish and plentiful, blending perfectly with the medley of fillings, expertly wrapped in a mammoth tortilla casing.

As for the beef, well, it spoke for itself, slow cooked to succulent meaty perfection.

Cleansing the palate, manager Jesús insisted we sample a glass of horchata, a creamy, spiced Mexican drink made from rice and water – the perfect complement to the meal.

We somehow find space to sample tres leches – three milk – cake, the indulgent dessert is a guilty pleasure.

This is the best Mexican I’ve tasted in the city: authentic, affordable and addictive –
You might have guessed, I can’t wait until my next visit.
