If you’re one of the thousands who commute to and from Dubai everyday, this could be the news you’ve been waiting for.
A contract to implement the Abu Dhabi – Dubai Road Project has been signed to deliver a 62km road between the two major cities. The contract, worth AED 2.138 billion was signed between Abu Dhabi General Services ‘Musanada’ and Ghantoot Transport & General Contracting Establishment, Tristar Engineering & Construction.
The road will consist of four lanes of traffic in each direction with potential to expand up to six lanes.
The first phase will implement 34kms of road, which will begin in the Saih Shuaib area on the border of Abu Dhabi and Dubai and progress up to Al Ajban Street.
HE Mohammad Khalifa Khalifa Al Fahed Al Muhairi, CEO of Musanada, affirmed that the signing of such a major project, which is considered one of the most important in the capital, “is in line with the Plan 2030.”
The project is expected to take 30 months to complete.
