I, Frankenstein (TBA) – Starring Aaron Eckhart, Bill Nighy and Yvonne Strahovski, directed by Stuart Beattie

The rumours are true: Frankenstein is real and he goes by the name of Adam.

Forget the customary green giant with bolts protruding out of his neck. Adam Frankenstein has received a muscular makeover thanks to Eckhart who takes inspiration from the sensitive and intelligent book character. Based on the graphic novel of the same name by Kevin Grevioux, I, Frankenstein puts a new spin on the classic tale.

Eckhart takes on the monstrous role as the 200-year old immortal superhuman being, who is living in a dystopian modern society of greed and terror. Born out of Victor Frankenstein’s science experiment using corpses and electricity, Adam was reanimated and continues to wander the Earth in a bid to prove his humanity. But Adam sticks out with his tremendous strength, speed and stamina that goes beyond that of any human. Now, with all attention on his immortality, Frankenstein becomes wrapped up in an ancient war for power between the pure but fierce warriors of the Gargoyle Order, led by Leonore and a ferocious human-like demon horde.

As the head of the demon horde, Nabirius, gathers a legion of soulless corpse demons, Frankenstein seeks out his own people to end the war for power. But the one-of-a-kind being becomes a target with everyone wanting to unleash the secret to his immortality.

Meanwhile, Charles Wessex (Nighy), who has dedicated his life to the search for immortality, becomes obsessed with the superhuman creation. But Wessex holds a sinister secret that threatens to destroy Earth for good.

I, Frankenstein hits theatres this Thursday 23rd January.
