Discover how a parent’s relationship with their child takes shape

A child’s relationship with its parents is crucial in shaping a person’s character.

A talk called ‘Becoming a Parent’ will explore how attachments develop, why they are important and the key things parents should know about their relationship with their children.

Dr Ross Thompson, professor of psychology at University of California, will host the talk.

“I hope that parents better understand the elements of parental care such as the development of secure attachment, understanding of people, language development and healthy psychological growth,” he says.

“Children have an interest in why people do the things they do, and make astonishing advances in understanding the people with whom they interact through their experiences of parental care.”

The talk is free and held in Abu Dhabi and Al Ain. Pre-registration required.  Manarat Al Saadiyat, Saadiyat Island. 23rd March 5pm
Al Ain Municipality Auditorium, Al Baladiyya Street. 24th March 5pm.

Contact: 02 499 1928.
