One stop to Park Station

Following extensive renovations in Mushrif Park, a new eatery also opened its doors.

With floor to ceiling windows, Park Station is certainly a pleasant and airy spot to stop and appreciate the greenery and nearby fountains.

The menu is refreshingly short, which makes choosing easy. While of course there are healthier options like this salad pictured, I opt for the veal bacon BLT, while my companion goes for the Wagyu burger. Contrary to the usual greasy burger and fries, a lean Wagyu beef patty is topped with Buffalo mozzarella, sundried tomatoes and chunky relish – on the side are crisps. The quality is great but the patty is under-seasoned for our taste and we’re missing those fries.

The veal bacon sandwich is a reworking of a classic formula, with added jalapeños. The sandwich, while tasty, doesn’t stand out.

We try a breakfast option for dessert: protein-packed egg white and barley pancakes. Drenched in honey with a blob of Greek yogurt, the result is nutty, delicious and reassuringly healthy.

Service seems a little patchy, but this will no doubt tighten up with time.

If you’re out for a stroll, Park Station is worth a visit for a quick bite thanks to its simple, healthy menu and charming surroundings.
