New rules for schools

Temecula-CA-Eduation

The Ministry of Education is drafting a new code of ethics and professional conduct for teachers across the UAE.

With the updated set of policies the ministry aims to foster a safer school environment as well as preventing circumstances that it deems unacceptable.

The announcement is timely in light of recently publicised videos from UAE schools, where teachers have been shown to be conducting themselves in a violent manner.

New guidelines will lay out the key duties and responsibilities of teachers, including how to maintain order and ensure safety of their charges.

The code will also cover professional requirements of the role, such as technical qualifications and basic conditions for employment.

Consulting with professionals in the field the Ministry will develop a modern set of policies that is responsive to current issues in education.

Once approved, the updated rules will be rolled out to all teachers in private and public schools following the ministry’s curricula.
