N2N opens a second gallery space

A new art gallery is set to open in the Nation Galleria on the Corniche.

Inspired by the rich art scene in her home country of Ukraine, Natalya Muzaleva, Founder and Artistic Director at N2N Gallery, introduced the gallery in 2013 at Emirates Palace in a bid to improve the art scene in the capital.

Now N2N Gallery is opening its second space, again majoring on art from the Ukraine.

“The academic school of art in the former Soviet Union is very strong,” said Muzaleva. “Artists train vigorously to perfect their skills, many of them are highly ambitious, and technically they are amazing.”

The gallery’s name stems from the concept of having two ways – or ‘napravlennya’ in Ukranian – of art (contemporary and academic) coming together in one direction.

N2N Gallery showcases classical artists as well as those with a less classical style.

“Although we show a variety of art, what brings it all together is the sense that art is a celebration, a chance for us to lose ourselves in a painting or sculpture and let it fill our senses. We hope that everyone who comes to our gallery is left with a sense of calm and positive energy and the feeling that they have just been exposed to something really wonderful.

“Art is here to bring harmony to our busy lives and is actually something very spiritual.”

The first exhibition at the new gallery will be ‘The waves of warm memories’ and will feature watercolours and impressionist paintings by Volodymyr Reshetov. Reshetov is a significant artist, with work in the National Art Museum of Ukraine.

‘The waves of warm memories’ opens on 30th November at 7pm and is open until 15th December.
