Mother of mine

From calming afternoon tea to custom cakes with the kids, there are plenty of ways to spoil your mum this Mother’s Day

It’s that time of year where we celebrate our marvelous mums. Whether it’s a homemade card or a decadent dinner out, we all make the effort to show mamma why she’s so magical.

Mother’s Day in the UAE is celebrated on 21st March so if you haven’t already made a plan, it’s time to get started.

Bloomsbury’s Cafe

Time for some bonding with your babies. Mothers and their children can head to any Bloomsbury’s boutique café on 20th and 21st March to try a Pipe a Cake with Mummy experience. Stop by at any time and decorate a cupcake with icing before taking it home. Cupcake and decorating are both free. Opening hours vary. Anahata Wellness Spa

Every mother deserves to be pampered and Anahata Wellness Spa has created two offers for March to make sure they are treated like royalty.

The three-hour Pampered Mother treatment includes a back massage followed by a facial, eyebrow threading, a kevin.murphy hair treatment and blow dry. Top it all off with a luxury manicure and pedicure and mum’s sure to leave the spa glowing, with a bouquet of flowers from the spa team in hand.

The two-hour Beautiful Mum treatment starts with an Arabian bath – a steam bath with exfoliation using black soap – followed by a foot massage, manicure and pedicure.

But what we really like is the complimentary 15-minute life coaching taster session. Coach Madalena Carvalho will lead the free class, which will provide brief guidance on eight topics including career, money and family.

AED 750 for Pampered Mother, AED 250 for Beautiful Mum. Life coaching session requires prior booking.  35th Street, off 16th Street, behind Sas Al Nakhl Primary School, Khalifa City A. Contact: O2 557 7722 www.anahataspa.ae

When two dine on these dates at Marco Pierre White Steakhouse and Grill, Frankie’s Italian Restaurant and Bar or the all-day dining restaurant CuiScene, you’ll receive a 50 per cent discount on your bill. If a table of three or more dine, mum eats for free.

CuiScene features a plethora of dishes such as seafood and Arabic grilled meat, while Frankie’s Italian Restaurant and Bar serves up a must-try spaghetti ai frutti di mare – pasta with seafood, garlic, chili and Frankie’s own tomato sauce. If you make your way to Marco Pierre White’s, be sure to try the Kobe steak and triple-cooked chips.
