Final Destination 4

movie02If you happen to have a weak stomach, this isn’t a film for you. As the fourth instalment of the Final Destination film series, this American horror/thriller has been shot in high-definition 3D for the first time – and the result is an ultra-graphic gore-fest that may have squeamish viewers reaching for the bucket.

College student Nick O’Bannon (Campo) is enjoying a day out with his friends at the McKinley Speedway when he suddenly has a frightening premonition. A car crash sends debris hurtling into the audience, crushing spectators and causing the stadium to collapse. Fearing that his intuition will come true, he urges his friends and girlfriend to leave instantly. As the confused and annoyed group gather outside, the accident happens, leaving them in disbelief – and fear.

Final Destination 4 – Dir David R Ellis, starring Bobby Campo, Shantel VanSanten, Nick Zano, Haley Webb

But the friends haven’t cheated death as quickly as they thought. Soon afterwards, they find themselves being picked out and killed in violent, freak accidents. Death is seeking out those who evaded their fate – and this time, it’s not going to give up without a fight.

The full-on in-your-face decapitations and impaling will thrill horror fans; it certainly puts the hammy acting in the shade. Don’t watch this film for the story that’s pretty predictable – but go for the gut-wrenchingly gross death scenes.
