Director: Joseph Kosinski
Starring: Garrett Hedlund, Jeff Bridges, Olivia Wilde

It’s been a while since Tron dazzled audiences with a futuristic action tale and impressive special effects in 1982. The 2010 CGI packed sequel tells the story of Sam Flynn (Hedlund), the tech-savvy 27-year-old son of Kevin Flynn (Bridges), who is still haunted by the mysterious disappearance of his father when he was eight years-old. Determined to find answers, Sam finds himself thrust into the dangerous digital world of Tron, where he discovers his father has been living from the last 20 years. Along with Kevin’s loyal confidant Quorra (Wilde), father and son embark on a life-and-death journey to finally escape from The Grid, but rejoining the real world is going to be anything but easy.

The special effects in Tron Legacy 3D transport the viewer to a whole new world with some simply stunning effects brought to life on the big screen. But while the action is plenty, the CGI astounding, and a digitally youthful Jeff Bridges is impressive (if not to say a little scary looking) the main thing lacking from this fantasy is an in depth storyline. While it’s easy to get carried away on the visuals alone, the plot is lacking anything that will turn this Disney sequel into a lasting legacy.
