It looks like Jennifer Aniston has well and truly brushed off her ‘Rachel’ image from the heyday of the all-American TV series Friends.
Aniston plays Sue Claussen, a slightly dowdy and very sensible travelling saleswoman. She meets Mike Cranshaw (Zahn), the stuck-in-a-rut manager of a roadside motel that she checks into. Mike instantly feels a spark for Sue and, on impulse, he hits the road to catch up with her after she leaves. But when he meets her again in Maryland, she’s with her punk-turned-yogurt-mogul ex-boyfriend (Harrelson) who is promising her a chance to lead his charity operations.
Determined to pursue his hopes, he challenges Sue’s practicality with his freewill and spontaneity and the two begin a roller-coaster journey to find their ultimate goal together – happiness.
This touching comedy-romance shows just how far Aniston’s career has progressed into true Hollywood status; the result is a grown-up, endearing look at the hopes and dreams of the chance of finding your soulmate. A surprisingly understated A-star film
