McGettigan’s Abu Dhabi celebrates its first birthday with a series of revelries throughout the weekend

McGettigan’s Abu Dhabi believes in the saying ‘time flies when you’re having fun’. The Irish pub will mark its first anniversary with a three-day celebration from 7th to 9th May.

Arthur Timlin, the bar’s manager, says, “We’ve had so many highlights over the past 12 months, but I would say my personal favourites are the FIFA World Cup final screening, hosting the GAA World Cup after party and our first St Patrick’s Day celebrations, which drew a great crowd to the venue.”

As part of the celebrations, the 90s cover band Smash Hits! will perform on 7th May. Guests are encouraged to don their best 90s attire – we’ll be sporting flannel shirts and torn jeans – to have the chance to win prizes and free drinks. Entry is free and drinks cost AED 20 until 7pm. The band takes to the stage around 10pm.

A Friday brunch will be laid out on 8th May from 12.30pm to 4pm. Guests can enjoy unlimited food and drinks a la carte, a roast carvery and buffet for AED 199 per person. Post brunch you can enjoy unlimited drinks for AED 149 from 4pm to 7pm.

On Saturday 9th May, enjoy a full Irish fry-up starting from AED 52 while watching various sports matches throughout the day. Drinks cost AED 20 all day.

Arthur adds, “The Abu Dhabi community has been amazing in welcoming us to the city and the birthday weekend is our way of saying thank you. We look forward to seeing new and existing customers during the course of the celebrations.”
