notalotofpeopleEmirates Palace is awash with superlatives, as you’d expect from a $3bn project that was ready within just three years and has become an iconic landmark for Abu Dhabi. Here are some of the eye-popping statistics:

  • It has are 128 kitchens and pantries. Each year they get through 200 tonnes of oranges for fresh juice and 5kg of pure edible gold (used for decoration, mainly on desserts)
  • There are 114 domes in the building, with the dramatic Central Dome rising to a height of 72.6 metres above ground
  • The hotel has 1,002 chandeliers, the largest weighing 2.5 tonnes.
  • There are 1,800 employees, currently hailing from 49 different countries.
