Hiltonia

The Corniche-based beach club at Hilton Abu Dhabi features a 350m beach, two temperature-controlled swimming pools, a separate toddler’s pool, two waterslides and plenty of watersport activities courtesy of Watercooled. When you tire of swimming take on a friend in a game of giant chess or beach volleyball.

A day pass includes use of the beach and pools. Watersports are separate and prices depend on the activity.

Emirates Palace Beach Club

Despite the palatial surroundings, Emirates Palace is a great place for the family. The children’s area, Sarab Land, features games and activities for little ones from 10am to 6pm. It caters to children between five and 12. There’s also a 30m swimming pool for grown-ups or you can drop the little ones with a babysitter for AED 50 an hour while you hit the spa to enjoy a hammam, facial or massage.

Entrance includes access to the beach, pools, gym, tennis courts and bike rental.

Nation Riviera Beach Club

Adjacent to Hiltonia is The St. Regis Abu Dhabi’s beach club, which features 200m of shoreline. Snorkel around the coral reef or chill out in the 35m swimming pool with its swim-up bar and Jacuzzi. Still not relaxing enough? Make use of the sauna and steam rooms or head into the hotel for a pampering treatment in Remède Spa. Children will find plenty to do in the Treasure Island Children’s Club while adults can grab a bite at the club’s restaurants Asia de Cuba and Catch – both are new, and both serve delicious seafood.

The Ritz-Carlton Abu Dhabi Grand Canal

The Ritz-Carlton is a great family option. Little ones can splash about in the capital’s largest kids’ pool or the Ritz Kids Splash Park while you float around in the 1,600sqm main pool. A day pass includes children’s activities such as rock painting and cupcake decorating at the kids club and use of the health club facilities.

Upgrade your outing with the family pool and beach experience, which includes a full day of access to the facilities as well as a Mediterranean lunch in Giornotte and all-you-can-eat homemade ice cream from Dolce for AED 850++.

Qasr Al Sarab

If you want to truly get away for a day, head to Qasr Al Sarab Desert Resort by Anantara in the Western Region. A day pass includes use of the resort’s pool, steam room and sauna. At the Kid’s Club little ones can join in balloon shaping, painting and clock-making or watch movies while older ones can head to the Teen’s Club to play billiards, table tennis, X-Box and Wii.

SWIM AND SAVE

 

Pulse Health Club

Al Ain offers a peaceful getaway and Ayla Hotel is worth a visit. The hotel is home to the city’s only covered pool so you don’t have to worry about getting sunburnt. A day pass includes access to the gym, pool, Jacuzzi, steam room and sauna. No children allowed.

Abu Dhabi Country Club

This mammoth health club features a circular outdoor swimming pool that’s great for families to splash around in. The neighbouring Mondo Pizzeria will help you refuel or you could go for a pampering session at the newly refurbished Thalgo Spa.

Daily 6am-11pm. Sun-Thu couples AED 125, families AED 150. Fri-Sat couples AED 175, families AED 200. Children under five free. Family pass includes access for two adults and two children up to 17.

Eden Spa & Health Club

Le Méridien features a 22m beach that carries a blue flag, an eco award that recognises clean waters. Here you can try watersports such as knee boarding, tube riding and kayaking. There are also two adult pools and a separate one for the tykes.

The regular pass gives you access to the beach and pool
but for a truly indulgent day go for the full facility pass, which also gives you access to the sauna, steam room, Jacuzzi, Turkish hammam, gym and Aqua medic pool – a therapeutic mineral pool.
