Real estate opportunities in Abu Dhabi are set to grow tremendously as Aldar, the capital’s leading listed property company, announced nearly 1,000 new high-quality residential units.

A total of 913 housing units, including apartments, townhouses and villas, will be built across prime areas of interest around the capital in Yas Island, Al Raha Beach and Al Bateen.

Residents looking to take advantage of Yas Island’s attractions will find the “Ansam” development an option. Comprised of 540 Andalusian-inspired apartments, the first phase of the development will overlook the award-winning Yas Links Golf Course with Yas Mall, Yas Waterworld, Yas Beach and Ferrari World all on your doorstep.

Yas Island has proved to be a major destination in the region in recent years as the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix gains speed. The revamping of Yas Marina, the stunning Yas Links golf course and the soon-to-open Yas Mall are also among the attractions that garner attention.

“Yas Island has already become a prime lifestyle leisure destination in the region, and the opening of Yas Mall at the end of this year and the launch of residential developments will only add to its allure,” said Gurjit Singh, chief development officer of Aldar Properties.

The second development lies across the bay on the popular Al Raha Beach waterfront, where Aldar has completed world-class developments including Al Bandar, Al Zeina and Al Muneera in recent years. Residents at “Al Hadeel”, which will feature 230 apartments and townhouses, can take advantage of the natural beachfront while also benefitting from easy access to the main highway between Abu Dhabi and Dubai.

Al Hadeel’s townhouses are located on the waterfront promenade and draw inspiration from the clean white lines of luxury boats, with transparent glass balconies offering unobstructed views of the water. Residents of the studio, one-, two-, and three-bedroom apartments as well as the townhouses will benefit from community living with swimming pools, a gymnasium, rooftop decks, a playground, barbeque and private party facilities among the amenities.

“Aldar’s Al Raha Beach developments are highly sought-after because of their convenient location, close to Yas Island, the international airport, and important new economic projects, including the KIZAD industrial zone,” added Singh.

Located in investment zones, units at Ansam and Al Hadeel are available to purchase by non-UAE citizens.

At the other end of the island, a series of 143 bespoke villas will offer UAE nationals access to unique waterfront homes on Nareel Island, adjacent to Al Bateen. The exclusive community, which is spread across two islands, carefully adheres to the Urban Planning Council’s development guidelines to ensure the design is in line with the community’s ‘aesthetic identity’.

The three projects mark Aldar’s next phase of development as the company also announced they are exploring 20 other non-governmental projects.

“This exciting pipeline of real estate developments showcases our ability to monetise our land bank to increase cash flows, grow our recurring revenues and create value for our shareholders,” said HE Abubaker Seddiq Al Khoori, chairman of Aldar Properties.

Off-plan sales of units at Ansam, Al Hadeel and Nareel Island will begin in May, while construction of the developments is due to start in 2015.
