A music festival quite unlike any other is about to land in the UAE.

The Festival of Colours is a one-day electronic music event where every hour the dancing crowd is bombed with bright colours, in the style of Holi festivals.

This festival has been held all around the world. It was held last March in neighbouring Dubai and attracted over 10,000 people. Now it’s the turn of the capital’s partygoers to enjoy.

“Colour cannons are amazing and the fans love it,” said Uttam Kumar, Managing Director of Tamquest Entertainment, the event’s organiser. “With this festival I wanted to take things to the next level and get more people to experience the magic of music and colours.”

Among the artists performing are Romanian DJ, musician, producer, performer and composer Edward Maya (of ‘Stereo love’ fame) and Serbian producer and DJ Jericho Ismael. They will be joined by several UAE-based talents – including Russian-born DJ Taya Kruzz, Australian producer and DJ Dion Mavath, and Russian-Montenegrin DJ Ilona Maras. Dubai-based DJ Vimal will perform his tune ‘Enroute Patiala’ – the official anthem of the Festival of Colours for the Middle East.

“There is a great line-up of artists, and there will be food and beverages to keep everyone going until late night,” said Kumar.

“More than anything else, I love to see the smiles on people’s faces. Seeing people enjoying the festival is the biggest joy for all of our team members. It’s the happiness that spreads and fills the space with a wonderful vibe.”

The coloured powders used are non-toxic and washable. The Festival of Colours is on 5th December, 4pm at the du Arena, Yas Island, and is open to over 18s only. For bookings visit: www.ticketmaster.ae
