Guardians of the Galaxy (PG13) – Starring Chris Pratt, Vin Diesel, Zoe Saldana and Bradley Cooper, directed by James Gunn
Marvel’s latest sci-fi action adventure certainly won’t disappoint. For fans unaware of the comic book characters making up this Galaxy, no need to worry, as this band of misfits is inherently likable.
Peter Quill (Pratt), aka Star Lord, is a troublesome earthling who’s got a thing for stealing. After he snatches a mysterious orb, he finds himself on the run from a handful of creatures out to get him – including a talking raccoon (just go with it), an all green-trained lady-killer, and a large tree-like giant that can only say three words. After finding themselves in prison, the motley crew bands together with a fellow warrior inmate – Drax the Destroyer – to break out.
The casting for the film is a stroke of genius – with Pratt’s (of Parks and Recreation fame) charm and Bradley Cooper’s quick wit as the fast-talking raccoon named Rocket, to Diesel’s repetitive tree, Groot. Each character plays off the other, making for some hilarious scenes.
The plot gets a little messy, but there’s no denying that this film is a hoot. Freewheeling and funny throughout, you won’t want to miss this!
Guardians of the Galaxy hits the big screen on Thursday 14th August.

The Expendables 3 (PG15)
Barney (Stallone) and the team find themselves against an old and ruthless adversary, Conrad Stonebanks (Gibson). In order to take out the threat, Barney decides to recruit newer, younger and more tech-savvy members for a battle between old and new blood. Also starring Jason Statham and Jet Li.
