Explore the UAE through the lens of an Emirati artist

From an aerial shot that captures the pattern created by a herd of camels drinking from a trough, to the smile of a little girl through a fence, the work of Emirati artist and photographer Sultan Karrani is compelling.

Sultan – an expert in the history and culture of the UAE – travelled throughout the country exploring the theme of personal and collective identity in order to create a collection of striking images. These photos are now on display as part of his ‘Reflections of the UAE’ exhibition at Le Royal Méridien.

He says, “In these images, the present is history and the future is immediate. When travelling in the desert and mountains around the region, my lack of familiarity with the topographical features combines with the vividness of the desert light to create the impression that everything – and nothing – is in focus, and that everything within a given scene is of equal importance.”

All photos in the exhibition are for sale from AED 1,000 to AED 5,000.

‘Reflections of the UAE’ is open until 30th April. Le Royal Méridien Abu Dhabi, Khalifa
Street. Contact: 02 674 2020
