Sin City: A Dame to Kill For –18+ Starring Mickey Rourke, Jessica Alba, Powers Boothe and Josh Brolin, directed by Frank Miller and Robert Rodriguez

From the shadows of Basin City, a new evil has emerged as power and profit are at the forefront of the city’s most devious minds.

Senator Roark (Boothe) has managed to take hold of the grimy city, forcing the likes of Marv (Rourke) and Nancy (Alba) to fight back; the outlaws of this mangled metropolis may soon become the heroes.

The movie, once again, is littered with one-liners, gruelling stares and of course, many detached stories that somehow all tie in to the main plot.

Directors Miller and Rodriguez play with a variety of techniques that have continued from the previous movie; comic book graphics, enjoyable CGI and of course, the famous flutters of film noir. Your eyes will also be subject to explosive uses of colour, all carefully placed by the directors. Expect gritty fights, unlikely partnerships and a cinema filled with wry smiles.

Sin City: A Dame to Kill For hits cinemas this Thursday 11th September.
