Art enthusiasts should head to Saadiyat Island this November, as the sixth edition of Abu Dhabi Art gets set to take place.

The popular arts festival will feature a selection of artwork from international galleries and an interactive public programme for participants to learn more about art. Hosted from 5th to 8th November at Manarat Al Saadiyat, the fair will offer a multi-disciplinary experience with special art programmes, talks and showcases.

Hosted by the Abu Dhabi Tourism & Culture Authority (TCA Abu Dhabi), galleries participating in the fair will exhibit under five sections, including Modern and Contemporary, Bidaya, Signature, Design and Beyond. New this year, the Beyond display will feature large-scale installations, sculptures and commissions that will extend, for the first time, across various venues around the city. The new initiative is meant to highlight the role public art plays within society and throughout the city’s landscape.

Other initiatives include the popular Public Programme, which features an extensive agenda of public talks, book launches, film screenings and a performing arts platform including, Durub Al Tawaya. Launched last year, Durub Al Tawaya takes visitors on a journey off-island, with live performances and art installations dotted around the city.

Running in parallel with Abu Dhabi Art is the exhibition, ‘Seeing through Light: Selections from the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi Collection’. The display will showcase 18 artists, whose work will form the Guggenheim Abu Dhabi’s permanent collection.

“In its sixth edition, Abu Dhabi Art has developed into an international art event, bringing the art world to Saadiyat Cultural District and to Abu Dhabi,” said HE Sheikh Sultan bin Tahnoon Al Nahyan, TCA Abu Dhabi Chairman.
